Individual Therapy
Do any of these sound familiar?
• You can hold it together all day and then completely fall apart the second you're alone.
• You've been called “too sensitive,” “too intense,” or “too much” your whole life — and you're starting to wonder if that's actually just you being autistic, ADHD, or both.
• Conflict makes you shut down, disappear, or overexplain yourself for hours afterward
.
• You're exhausted in a way that sleep doesn't fix — because most of your energy goes into looking okay.
• You know what you want to do (send the email, set the boundary, rest) and still can't make yourself do it.
• You've spent years in therapy that focused on your thoughts, but never quite touched the trauma, the masking, or the body-level exhaustion underneath.
If any of this lands, you're in the right place. Individual therapy at TWJ combines EMDR, somatic work, and a trauma-responsive lens to help you understand your nervous system, unlearn the masking that's been keeping you safe but small, and build a life that actually fits how your brain and body work — not the one you've been forcing yourself into.
Individual therapy is a deeply collaborative, personalized experience where you work one-on-one with a therapist who listens, understands, and supports you in achieving your goals. Whether you’re navigating the complexities of neurodivergence, healing from trauma, or seeking to build healthier relationships with yourself and others, therapy is a space to process, explore, and grow.
In therapy, we will work together to understand your unique experiences, strengths, and challenges. We will create a customized plan that supports your growth, focusing on areas such as:
-
Neurodivergence: Understanding your neurodivergent brain and learning strategies to work with your unique wiring.
-
Anxiety and Depression: Identifying triggers, managing symptoms, and finding balance.
-
Trauma Healing: Processing past experiences in a safe, trauma-informed space using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, a highly effective approach to heal trauma and deeply rooted emotional distress.
-
Self-Regulation: Building tools to manage emotions, reactions, and stress.
-
Self-Esteem: Developing a healthy, compassionate relationship with yourself.
-
Boundaries and Conflict Resolution: Strengthening your ability to set and respect boundaries, improve communication, and resolve conflicts.
-
Gender and Sexuality Exploration: Navigating identity with support and affirmation.
-
Brain-Body Connection: Enhancing awareness of how your mind and body work together for overall well-being.
What is EMDR Therapy?
As a trained EMDR therapist, I specialize in helping clients process and heal from trauma through this powerful and evidence-based approach. EMDR involves the use of bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or taps) while focusing on distressing memories or emotions. This process helps your brain reprocess the traumatic memories, reducing their emotional charge and allowing you to move forward with less pain and more peace. EMDR is particularly helpful for individuals who have experienced trauma or are struggling with deeply ingrained patterns of anxiety, depression, or PTSD. Learn More
